Introduction:

Socrates made two major contributions: Process of inductive reasoning and the importance of general definition.
For Socrates, the search for truth had to befin with the acceptance by a man of his own ignorance.
The test of knowledge is the ability to give a general definition of the subject matter under inquiry.

Socrates was the fulcrum on which Greek philosophy turned from the study of nature to a study of man himself, the purpose of life and to the nature and perfection of the human soul.
Man is the measure of all things.
Evil is only ignorance of the truth.
(Good bad is always a concern of philosophy.)
The aim of life and the correct way to live.
Plato introduces in the Republic the concept of the Good as the source of Knowledge and Truth.
